Alongside renewable electricity, hydrogen from electrolysis, and responsibly sourced raw materials, we actively seek more sustainable sourcing options.

Procurement – Environmental and social aspects in the supply chain
Procurement is one focus area of our sustainability program.
We take action across several key dimensions:
- Ensure long-term, responsible supply chains
- Manage strategic suppliers using ESG criteria
- Source materials and conflict minerals sustainably & responsibly
- Secure tungsten and molybdenum via long-term contracts and recycling
The Plansee Group is committed to sustainable and responsible procurement throughout the entire group. Suppliers are selected and screened according to strict criteria such as quality, environment, health and safety, human rights, labor standards and anti-corruption. This principle is outlined in the Supplier Code of Conduct and the Raw Material Supply Chain Policies. Regular audits and tools like Assent ensure traceability and continuous improvement. Employees involved in procurement receive ongoing training. The Plansee Group commits to long-term supply and purchase agreements based on mutual trust and focus on sustainability.
The Plansee Group exercises due diligence in sourcing of conflict minerals such as tungsten, tantalum, tin and gold (3TG), in compliance with international regulations and standards. Only suppliers are selected that implement the OECD Due Diligence Guidance, the EU Regulation 2017/821 and the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act. Compliance with this commitment is confirmed by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) through regular audits as part of the RMI Downstream Assessment Program. The Plansee Group's tungsten provider, GTP, was the first tungsten processor worldwide to be certified as a “Conflict-Free Smelter” in 2013.
